World Athletics has officially unveiled the prize money for the 2026 World Relays currently taking place in Gaborone, Botswana.

Athletes and teams from across the globe have converged on the Botswana capital for the highly anticipated relay championship, which continues to attract global attention.

The athletics governing body on Saturday confirmed the financial rewards for participating teams based on their final positions in each event.

According to the announcement, gold medal winners will receive $40,000, while silver medallists will earn $20,000. Bronze medal winners are set to take home $10,000.

Teams finishing in fourth position will pocket $8,000, with fifth place earning $6,000. Sixth-place finishers will receive $4,000, while teams placed seventh $3,000 and eighth will get $2,000.

The World Relays also serves as a key qualification event for major international championships, with countries battling for places and global ranking points in Botswana.
