Nigeria Flying Eagles head coach Abdul Maikaba has been unveiled as the new Technical Adviser of Bayelsa United ahead of the 2026/27 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.
The Yenagoa-based club confirmed the appointment as preparations continue for the new campaign, with the management expressing confidence in Maikaba’s ability to lead the team to greater success.
Maikaba arrives with a wealth of experience in Nigerian football, having handled several NPFL clubs and recorded notable achievements during his coaching career. His appointment is seen as a major boost for the Prosperity Boys as they seek to improve on their performances in the forthcoming season.
The highly-rated tactician is also the current head coach of Nigeria’s U-20 national team, the Flying Eagles, and is expected to bring his vast technical knowledge and leadership qualities to Bayelsa United.
The unveiling signals the start of a new era for Bayelsa United as the club intensifies preparations for the 2026/27 NNL season.
