Nigeria Women Football League champions Edo Queens have secured a place in the semifinals of the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU-B qualifiers following a convincing 3-1 victory over Ivorian champions ASEC Mimosas.

Edo Queens dominated proceedings and took the lead in the 23rd minute through Oluwakemi Adegbuyi, who finished calmly to give the Nigerian champions an early advantage.

Doosuur Atume doubled the lead in the 43rd minute, ensuring Edo Queens went into the halftime break with a comfortable 2-0 advantage.

ASEC Mimosas returned stronger after the restart and pulled a goal back to reduce the deficit and put pressure on the Nigerian side.

However, Edo Queens remained composed and eventually restored their two-goal cushion in the 89th minute when Oluebube Umajiaku found the back of the net to complete a 3-1 victory.

The result guarantees Edo Queens a place in the semifinals with one group game still to play.

The Nigerian champions had earlier opened their campaign on Monday with a resounding 7-0 victory over AS Garde Nationale of Niger Republic.

With six points from two matches and an impressive 10 goals scored, Edo Queens currently sit top of Group B.

They will round off their group-stage campaign against Ghanaian side Ampem Darkoa Ladies.
