Nigeria’s Falconets have replaced captain Joy Igbokwe and Faridat Abdulwahab in their squad for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after the duo were not granted visas to travel for the tournament.
Vivian Kachi and Alaba Olabiyi have been called up as replacements and will join the squad as Nigeria intensifies preparations for the global championship.
The Falconets have been drawn in Group F alongside Spain, China PR and New Caledonia.
Nigeria will open their campaign against Spain on September 7, before facing China PR on September 10. They will conclude their group-stage fixtures against New Caledonia on September 13.
The team will continue its training programme in Trzebnica in the coming days, with preparations set to intensify ahead of the tournament.
The Falconets will be aiming to make a strong impression at the global championship despite the late changes to their squad.
