Nigeria’s senior men’s basketball team, D’Tigers, suffered a disappointing start to their FIBA Basketball World Cup qualifying campaign after losing 78-62 to Cameroon.
D’Tigers endured a difficult shooting night as Cameroon took control of the game and secured a 16-point victory.
The defeat leaves Nigeria with a tougher task in their bid to secure a ticket to the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
D’Tigers will now turn their attention to their next fixture against South Sudan, where they will be aiming to bounce back and revive their qualification hopes.
