Spain booked their place in the final of the 2026 FIFA World Cup after defeating France 2-0 in Tuesday’s semi-final.
The 2010 world champions dominated proceedings from the opening whistle and took a deserved lead through Mikel Oyarzabal, who calmly converted from the penalty spot to put Spain ahead.
France responded with increased urgency after the break in search of an equaliser, but Spain remained in control and sealed the victory when Pedro Porro found the back of the net with the second goal.
The win sends Spain into the World Cup final, where they will face the winner of the other semi-final as they bid to lift the trophy for the second time in their history.
