Cameroon’s Indomitable Lionesses have ended Nigeria’s campaign at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco after securing a narrow 1–0 victory over the Super Falcons on Sunday.
Myriam Nyadjou scored the decisive goal in the 20th minute to hand Cameroon a crucial victory in the encounter.
The Super Falcons fought to get back into the game but were unable to find an equaliser as Cameroon held on to claim the win.
The result sees Cameroon secure a ticket to the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, while Nigeria’s Super Falcons will have to go through the playoff route to keep their World Cup hopes alive.
The defeat brings an end to Nigeria’s quest to retain the WAFCON title, having won the previous edition.
