The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has dismissed reports circulating on social media claiming that it has called for FIFA President, Gianni Infantino, to step down from his position.
The federation described the reports as completely false, stressing that it has neither asked nor is currently asking Infantino to resign as FIFA president.
“Contrary to reports, especially on social media, NFF has never asked and is not asking for FIFA President, Mr. Gianni Infantino, to step down as FIFA President,” the federation stated.
The NFF further described the reports as an “outright falsehood,” urging the public and football stakeholders to disregard the claims.
The clarification comes amid growing discussions and speculation on social media surrounding the leadership of world football’s governing body.
