Nigeria’s rising track star Samuel Ogazi made a stunning start to his professional career after winning the men’s 400m event at the Ed Murphey Classic in Tennessee, USA.
Ogazi clocked an impressive 44.57 seconds to claim victory in his pro debut, announcing his arrival on the senior athletics scene in style.
The Nigerian quarter-miler defeated Jamaica’s Antonio Watson, who finished second with a time of 44.70 seconds, while Grenada’s Olympic champion Kirani James settled for third place after recording 45.04 seconds.
The performance marks another major milestone for Ogazi, who has continued to gain recognition as one of Nigeria’s brightest talents in the 400m event.
