Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali marked his return to competitive football with an outstanding performance as Chippa United played out a goalless draw against Golden Arrows in their opening match of the new season.

The 30-year-old, who was making his first competitive appearance in eight months, produced a string of impressive saves to help his side secure a valuable point away from home.
Nwabali was in inspired form throughout the encounter, making six crucial saves to deny the hosts and preserve a clean sheet. His commanding display between the posts earned him a perfect 10.0 match rating and the Man of the Match award.
The performance will come as a major boost for the Nigerian international, who showed no signs of rust despite his lengthy spell away from competitive action.
His return to top form is also expected to delight the Super Eagles coaching crew ahead of Nigeria’s upcoming international engagements, with Nwabali reaffirming his status as one of the country’s most dependable goalkeepers.
