FIFA President Gianni Infantino has confirmed that the proposed FIFA Forward Enterprise project will not go ahead after receiving feedback from stakeholders.
Infantino said the decision was taken after listening to concerns raised about the initiative, admitting that the project had created divisions within the football community.
“I listened to the feedback and the project created divisions,” Infantino said, explaining the reason behind FIFA’s decision to discontinue the proposal.
The FIFA President stressed that unity within world football remains a priority, noting that the governing body would continue to focus on initiatives that enjoy broad support from its member associations and stakeholders.
The FIFA Forward Enterprise project was intended to support the development of football through the FIFA Forward Programme, but the governing body has now decided not to proceed with the initiative following widespread feedback.
