Norway booked their place in the Round of 16 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup after edging Ivory Coast 2-1 in an entertaining Round of 32 encounter.
The Norwegians made a bright start to the match and deservedly took the lead midway through the first half through Antonio Nusa, who finished off a well-worked attacking move.
Ivory Coast responded after the break, with substitute Amad Diallo making an immediate impact by scoring the equaliser to bring the Elephants back into the contest.
However, Norway had the final say as star striker Erling Haaland struck in the 85th minute to restore his side’s advantage and seal a hard-fought victory.
The win sends Norway into the Round of 16, where they will continue their quest for a historic World Cup triumph, while Ivory Coast bow out of the tournament after a spirited performance.
