Abuja is set to welcome Africa’s finest cyclists as Nigeria hosts the 3rd Confederation of African Cycling (CAC) Para-Track African Championships and the 12th CAC Track African Championships from May 9-17, 2026 at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Velodrome.

The championships will bring together elite and para-athletes from across the continent, with South Africa, Kenya, Algeria, Zimbabwe, Ghana and Benin Republic already confirming participation alongside host nation, Nigeria.

The Cycling Federation of Nigeria (CFN) commended the National Sports Commission (NSC) for approving the federation’s proposed budget for the championships, while assuring that Nigeria is fully prepared to deliver a successful continental event.

Team Nigeria cyclists are currently in camp following the recently concluded national trials in Abuja ahead of the African championships.
