Nigeria’s Chukwuebuka Enekwechi has been crowned Commonwealth Games champion after winning the men’s shot put gold medal at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.
Enekwechi secured the title with a superb throw of 21.07 metres in the fifth round, producing the winning effort in a closely contested final.
New Zealand’s Tom Walsh settled for the silver medal after recording a best throw of 21.03m, while England’s Scott Lincoln claimed the bronze medal with a throw of 20.99m.
The victory adds another gold medal to Team Nigeria’s tally at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games and further cements Enekwechi’s status as one of Africa’s leading shot put athletes.
