Former David Fizdale has been appointed as the new head coach of Nigeria’s senior men’s basketball team, D’Tigers.
Fizdale, who previously served as head coach of NBA sides the Memphis Grizzlies and New York Knicks, is expected to lead the Nigerian national team into the third window of the 2027 FIBA World Cup qualifiers scheduled to take place in Angola.
The appointment is seen as a major step for Nigerian basketball as the federation looks to strengthen the team ahead of the crucial qualification campaign.
D’Tigers will face strong competition in the next qualification window as they continue their quest to secure a place at the 2027 FIBA World Cup.
