The Nigeria women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, have arrived in Haikou, China, as preparations intensify for the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup in Berlin.
The reigning African champions touched down in the Chinese city ahead of a series of international friendly games, which form a key part of their build-up to the global tournament.
The friendlies in China are expected to provide head coach Rena Wakama and her technical crew with an opportunity to assess the squad against quality opposition, fine-tune tactics, and improve team chemistry before the World Cup.
D’Tigress have been on an extensive preparation programme for the tournament, with the China fixtures serving as another important step on their journey to Berlin as they aim to make a strong impression on the world stage.
