Chelsea produced a remarkable second-half comeback to defeat Leeds United 6–3 in a thrilling Carabao Cup third-round encounter at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.
Leeds stunned the hosts by taking a 2–0 lead, with Brenden Aaronson adding to Tarik Muharemovic’s opener shortly after half-time.
Chelsea responded through substitute Cole Palmer, who scored twice in quick succession to level the contest. Pedro Neto then put the Blues ahead before Danny Welbeck extended their advantage.
Leeds pulled one back through Dominic Calvert-Lewin to make it 4–3, but Chelsea sealed their place in the next round when Valentin Barco fired home in the 80th minute and a deflected goal from Welbeck late in the game
The victory underlined Chelsea’s attacking depth and resilience under Xabi Alonso, while Leeds will rue surrendering a two-goal advantage.
