The Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football will hold a virtual meeting on Thursday under the chairmanship of CAF President Patrice Motsepe.
The meeting is expected to address a wide range of issues concerning African football, including updates on the ongoing Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) and preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The Executive Committee will also deliberate on matters relating to the 2026/27 CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup, the CAF Super Cup, the U23 Africa Cup of Nations, the CAF Women’s Champions League, and the 2027 U20 AFCON to be hosted by Ghana.
Youth football development will also feature prominently on the agenda, with discussions scheduled on the 2026 FIFA U17 World Cup, the 2027 U17 AFCON, and the newly introduced U17 Girls AFCON competition.
In addition, the committee is expected to discuss plans for the 2026 CAF Awards, which will be hosted in Nigeria, while also reviewing the bidding process for the 2028, 2032, and 2036 editions of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Other major agenda items include the approval of the African Nations League format for the 2029, 2031, and 2033 editions, as well as the approval of the competition’s bidding process.
The Executive Committee will also consider the FIFA Forward Enterprise programme and a proposal to expand football development funding across the continent.
The meeting will further review per diem allowances for CAF referees, match officials, VAR operators, and match commissioners, while receiving reports from CAF’s judicial bodies, including the Appeal Board and the Disciplinary Committee.
