Team Nigeria has continued its impressive campaign at the ongoing 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, climbing to sixth place on the overall medal table after nine days of competition.
The Nigerian contingent has amassed a total of 24 medals, comprising 10 gold, seven silver, and seven bronze medals, making the country the highest-ranked African nation at the Games.
Nigeria’s gold medal haul has been driven by outstanding performances across three sports. Athletics has produced four gold medals, while the weightlifting and para powerlifting teams have contributed three gold medals each.
The remarkable performance has positioned Team Nigeria as the only African country currently occupying a place in the top 10 of the Commonwealth Games medal standings.
With several events still to be concluded, Nigeria will be aiming to add to its medal tally and maintain its position among the leading nations in Glasgow.
