The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has completed the draw for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, with Nigeria’s Super Eagles drawn into Group L.

The ceremony, held on Tuesday afternoon in Cairo, placed Nigeria alongside Madagascar, Tanzania, and Guinea-Bissau in a competitive four-team group.

According to the qualifying format, 48 teams were divided into 12 groups of four.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the finals of the 2027 AFCON.

The tournament itself will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda the first time three East African nations will co-host Africa’s biggest football showpiece.

Nigeria, Africa’s most successful nation at the Africa Cup of Nations with three titles, will be determined to top their group and secure qualification for the expanded finals.

The Super Eagles are expected to start as strong favourites in Group L, though they will need to navigate tricky away fixtures in Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau, as well as competitive matches against co-hosts Tanzania.

Qualifying matches are scheduled to begin later in 2026.
