Nigeria’s senior women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, now know exactly when they will begin their campaign at the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup.

The African champions will open Group play on Thursday, September 4, against South Korea, with tip-off scheduled for 1:30 pm WAT.

D’Tigress will return to action the very next day, Friday, September 5, facing Hungary at 1:15 pm WAT.

They will then conclude their group-stage fixtures on Sunday, September 7, against hosts and powerhouse France at 1:30 pm WAT.

The three games will give the Nigerian team a challenging but exciting start as they look to build on their impressive recent performances on the continental and global stage.

As reigning African champions, D’Tigress have earned the right to compete among the world’s best and will be determined to make a strong statement in the tournament.
