World Cup 2026: FIFA to hold opening ceremonies across three host nations

World football governing body FIFA has concluded plans to stage opening ceremonies in all three host countries for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The tournament, which will be jointly hosted by United States, Canada and Mexico, is set to make history as the first World Cup to feature 48 teams and multiple opening celebrations across the host nations.

According to reports, FIFA will organize special ceremonies before each host nation’s opening match, while additional “USA 250” celebrations are also scheduled to take place during two matches on July 4 as part of activities marking the 250th anniversary of the United States.

Several global music stars are expected to perform during the events, with names such as Katy Perry, Alanis Morissette, Michael Bublé, LISA and Future reportedly lined up to perform.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is expected to be one of the biggest sporting events in history, with millions of fans anticipated to attend matches across the three nations.
