Nigeria’s Super Falcons forward Esther Okoronkwo has been ruled out for approximately six weeks after suffering a knee injury while in action for AFC Toronto.
The Canadian club confirmed that the striker sustained meniscus damage during their league game against Halifax Tides FC.
Okoronkwo is expected to undergo rehabilitation and recovery treatment during the six-week period as she aims to return to full fitness.
The injury will come as a setback for both AFC Toronto and the Super Falcons, with the forward having played an important role for club and country in recent months.
