Tunisia head coach Hervé Renard is reportedly set to step down from his position following the Carthage Eagles’ final Group F match against the Netherlands at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
According to multiple reports in Tunisian media, the 57-year-old French tactician is expected to announce his resignation after Tunisia’s last group-stage fixture scheduled for June 25.
Renard was appointed during the tournament in a bid to revive Tunisia’s fortunes after a disappointing start to their World Cup campaign.
However, the North African side has struggled to make an impact, suffering heavy defeats that ultimately ended their hopes of progressing to the knockout stage.
Tunisia opened their campaign with a 5-1 defeat to Sweden before enduring another setback with a 4-0 loss to Japan, becoming the first African nation eliminated from the tournament.
The reported decision would mark another abrupt departure for Renard, who is widely regarded as one of Africa’s most successful coaches, having guided both Zambia and Ivory Coast to Africa Cup of Nations glory during his managerial career.
Neither the Tunisian Football Federation nor Renard has officially confirmed the reports, but speculation continues to grow as Tunisia prepare for their final World Cup outing against the Dutch.
