Shooting Stars have appointed former Super Eagles assistant coach Salisu Yusuf as their new head coach ahead of the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
The Oluyole Warriors confirmed Yusuf’s appointment on Friday, following the departure of Aweroro from the position.
Yusuf, an experienced Nigerian coach who has previously worked with the Super Eagles, is expected to lead Shooting Stars into the new NPFL campaign.
The 2026/27 season will also see the Ibadan-based club compete in the CAF Confederation Cup, with Yusuf tasked with guiding the team in both domestic and continental competitions.
The appointment is expected to bring experience and tactical leadership to the Shooting Stars technical bench as the club prepares for a demanding new season.
