Nigeria unveils strong squad for CAA U18/U20 African Championships in Senegal

Nigeria has named a strong contingent for the 2026 CAA U18/U20 African Championships scheduled to take place in Dakar, Senegal, from July 4 to 5.

The Athletics Federation of Nigeria will be represented across the U18 and U20 boys’ and girls’ categories, with several of the country’s promising young athletes set to compete for continental honours.

The U18 girls’ team comprises Rosemary Chigozie Nwankwo, Tejiri Ugoh, Jecinta Andrews, Faith Ezechukwu, and Mary Chioma Edeh.

In the U18 boys’ category, Nigeria will be represented by Bright Gift, Mumuni Abdul Mohammed, David Udoh, and Dominion Success Okereke.

The U20 girls’ squad includes Miracle Ezechukwu, Oluebube Lucy, and Chiamaka Nwankwo, while the U20 boys’ team features Tejiri Godwin, Gang James, Emmanuel Shakamomodu, and Audu.

The championships will serve as a platform for Africa’s emerging athletics talents to showcase their abilities, with Nigeria aiming to secure medals and strengthen its reputation as one of the continent’s leading athletics nations.
