Turkish Super Lig side Konyaspor have completed the signing of Nigeria international defender Chidozie Awaziem on a two-year contract.
The deal was officially sealed during a signing ceremony held at the Konyaspor Museum inside the club’s stadium, with the club’s Football Branch Manager, Ali Camgöz, in attendance.
Awaziem, an experienced central defender, began his professional career with Portuguese giants Porto before enjoying spells with several clubs across Europe and the United States. The Super Eagles defender has previously featured for Nantes, Çaykur Rizespor, Leganés, Boavista, Alanyaspor, Hajduk Split, FC Cincinnati, Colorado Rapids and Nantes.
Konyaspor also confirmed that the Nigerian defender will wear the number 15 jersey during his time at the club.
The Turkish club welcomed Awaziem to the Green and White outfit and expressed confidence that his experience and leadership will strengthen the team’s defensive unit ahead of the new season.
