Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has been honoured with a special plaque in recognition of reaching 100 appearances for the Nigerian national team.
Iwobi, who made his debut for Nigeria against DR Congo in 2015, achieved the milestone after years of consistent service to the three-time African champions.
The commemorative plaque was presented to the Fulham star by the Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Shehu Dikko, shortly before Nigeria’s international friendly match against Portugal in Leiria.
The 30-year-old has remained a key figure for the Super Eagles since making his debut, featuring in several major tournaments including the Africa Cup of Nations and FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The recognition highlights Iwobi’s dedication and contribution to Nigerian football, as he joins an exclusive list of players to have earned 100 caps for the Super Eagles.
