Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has described Nigeria’s upcoming international friendly against Poland as a valuable test for his team.
The Super Eagles are set to take on Poland in Warsaw on Wednesday as part of preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Chelle acknowledged the disappointment of missing out on the FIFA World Cup but stressed the need for the team to refocus and build towards future objectives.
“We’re sad we’re not going to the World Cup, but that’s life. We have to focus on our vision and strengths,” Chelle said.
The former Mali coach added that facing a strong European side like Poland provides the ideal platform to assess the squad and experiment with tactical approaches.
“The match against Poland, which is a difficult opponent, is a good opportunity to test a few different approaches,” he added.
The encounter is expected to give the technical crew a clearer picture of the team’s readiness ahead of the crucial AFCON qualifying campaign.
