Nigeria’s rising tennis sensation, Seun Ogunsakin, has exited the qualifying rounds of the prestigious French Open Junior Championships after a spirited performance in Paris.

Ogunsakin’s impressive run came to an end following a straight-sets defeat to Oliver Majdandzic, who claimed a 6-3, 7-6(5) victory in a fiercely contested encounter.

The Nigerian youngster struggled in the opening set as Majdandzic asserted his dominance to take it 6-3.

However, Ogunsakin responded strongly in the second set, showing remarkable resilience and determination to push his opponent to a tie-break.

Despite his spirited comeback, the Nigerian was unable to complete the turnaround as Majdandzic held his nerve in the tie-break to seal the match and advance to the next stage of the competition.

Although his campaign ended in the qualifiers, Ogunsakin earned plaudits for his fighting spirit and impressive performances throughout the tournament, further underlining his potential as one of Nigeria’s brightest young tennis prospects.

His showing in Paris is expected to provide valuable experience as he continues his development on the international junior tennis circuit.
