Fenerbahçe have formally lodged a complaint with the Turkish Football Federation in a bid to prevent Victor Osimhen from featuring in the upcoming Istanbul derby against Galatasaray.
According to reports from HTSpor, the club’s petition centers on concerns over the protective arm gear worn by the
Nigerian forward following a recent injury. Fenerbahçe argue that the equipment could pose a potential safety risk to opposing players during high-intensity physical duels.
Osimhen has been using the protective gear as part of his recovery protocol, allowing him to continue playing despite the injury.
However, Fenerbahçe’s complaint raises questions over compliance with match safety regulations and whether the gear meets the standards set by football authorities.
The Turkish Football Federation is now expected to review the case and determine whether any action will be taken ahead of the highly anticipated derby clash, a fixture known for its intensity and fierce rivalry.
