The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has listed Nigeria among the 44 countries set to participate in the qualification race for the 2027 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations.
Nigeria’s U-23 side will join the likes of Algeria, Angola, Ghana, Egypt, Morocco, Senegal, South Africa and Zambia in the competition, which also serves as the qualification pathway for the Olympic Games.
Egypt will host the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations finals, while the participating teams will battle through the qualifying rounds for places in the tournament.
The road to the AFCON U-23 finals will begin with the draw, as CAF prepares to determine the fixtures for the qualifying campaign.
Other participating nations include Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, DR Congo, Guinea, Kenya, Mali, Tunisia, Uganda, Tanzania and Zimbabwe.
Nigeria will be hoping to secure qualification and continue its tradition of competing for Olympic football honours.
