The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially confirmed the international windows for the qualification campaign for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), with matches set to be played across three FIFA international windows between September 2026 and March 2027.
The qualifying series will begin in September 2026, with the opening round of matches scheduled for September 23–25, while the second round will take place from September 27–29.
CAF also stipulated that there must be a minimum of two full rest days between the two rounds of fixtures. Following the completion of Round 2, Member Associations will be permitted to arrange international friendly matches between October 1 and October 6, 2026.
The qualifiers will resume in November 2026, with Round 3 slated for November 11–13, followed by Round 4 from November 15–17.
The final phase of the qualification campaign will be held during the March 2027 FIFA international window, with Rounds 5 and 6 scheduled to take place between March 22 and March 30, 2027.
