Nigeria’s D’Tigers began their 2025 AfroBasket journey in style, securing a commanding 77-59 victory over Madagascar in their opening group game.
After a tightly contested first quarter, the Nigerian side held a slim one-point lead going into halftime, thanks in large part to Caleb Agada’s impressive showing. Agada finished the game with a team-high 13 points, setting the tone for his teammates.
Though the match wasn’t entirely smooth for D’Tigers, they found another gear in the final quarter, outscoring Madagascar 22-13 to seal the win in emphatic fashion.
A decade after clinching their first AfroBasket title, Nigeria has set its sights firmly on capturing a second continental crown.
