The Nigeria U-19 Women’s Basketball Team has departed Abuja for Brno, Czechia, ahead of their participation in the 2024 FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup.
Following weeks of intensive training at the MKO Abiola Stadium, the team is fully prepared to kick off their campaign against China on July 12.
Nigeria is drawn in Group C alongside China, Canada, and Portugal. The 16-team tournament begins on July 12, with Nigeria facing China in their opening match.
All participating teams will advance to the Final Phase of the competition, which adopts a single-elimination format starting from the Round of 16. Matchups in the knockout stage will see Group A teams face Group B, and Group C take on Group D, based on their group standings (1st vs 4th, 2nd vs 3rd).
