Super Falcons head coach Justine Madugu is set to make changes to his squad ahead of Nigeria’s crucial FIFA Women’s World Cup playoff clash against South Africa’s Banyana Banyana.
Madugu hinted that underperforming players could be dropped from the starting lineup after an assessment of the team’s performance in their previous matches.
“It’s natural that when things like this happen, we have to do an overall assessment of the team,” Madugu was quoted by ESPN.
“What went wrong, what we did well, where did we get it wrong?
“We have to do an overall assessment and see what we can do in the shortest possible time before the next game against South Africa.
“There’s nothing bad in exploring other players.”
The Super Falcons will face Banyana Banyana on Thursday in Morocco, with a place at the FIFA Women’s World Cup at stake.
Madugu will hope the changes can help Nigeria produce a stronger performance and secure victory against their continental rivals.
