Nairobi has officially submitted its formal bid to host the 2029 World Athletics Championships, stepping up efforts to bring the global athletics showpiece to Africa.
The Kenyan capital has presented its hosting proposal as a strong case for Africa to stage one of the sport’s biggest international events.
If successful, Nairobi would become a major hub for world-class athletics and provide a significant boost to Kenya’s reputation as one of the continent’s leading athletics nations.
The bid is expected to face competition from other interested cities as World Athletics considers the host for the 2029 edition.
