South Africa secured a historic place in the Round of 32 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup after edging South Korea 1-0 in the early hours of Thursday.

The Bafana Bafana produced a disciplined and spirited performance to overcome the Asian side, with Maseko scoring the decisive goal in the 63rd minute.

The victory ensured South Africa’s progression to the knockout stage, marking a significant achievement for the team on the global stage.

In another group fixture, Morocco fought back twice to defeat Haiti 4-2 and seal their place in the Round of 32.

Haiti took an early lead through Bono in the 10th minute before Achraf Hakimi restored parity for Morocco in the 39th minute. Haiti regained the advantage just before the break when Isidor found the net in the 43rd minute, but Ez Abde Saibari equalised two minutes later to leave the score at 2-2 heading into halftime.

Morocco completed the comeback in the second half, with Soufiane Rahimi putting the North Africans ahead in the 78th minute before Yassine Bounou wrapped up the victory with a late goal in the 89th minute.

The results mean that both South Africa and Morocco have successfully advanced to the Round of 32 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
