Nigeria has been officially readmitted into the Confederation of African Football’s CAF A Coaching Convention, paving the way for the Nigeria Football Federation to resume CAF A coaching courses across the country.
The development comes after years of anticipation and repeated calls from members of Nigeria’s coaching community for the reinstatement of the programme, which is regarded as one of the highest coaching qualifications on the African continent.
With the readmission, Nigerian coaches will once again have the opportunity to advance their certifications locally and improve their chances of working at elite levels within Africa and beyond.
The move is expected to provide a major boost for technical development in Nigerian football, while also strengthening the capacity of coaches handling clubs and national teams at different levels.
The CAF A licence is considered a key requirement for coaches seeking to manage top-tier teams in African competitions and international football.
Officials believe the return to the convention represents a significant milestone in the Nigeria Football Federation’s efforts to improve coaching education and align the country with continental standards.
