Nigeria’s Super Eagles forward Taiwo Awoniyi delivered a sensational performance on Monday night as Nottingham Forest secured an impressive 3-1 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

The Nigerian striker gave Forest the perfect start after opening the scoring in just the second minute with a powerful header that stunned the home supporters.

Awoniyi continued to trouble Chelsea’s defence and later won a penalty for the visitors after a dangerous attacking move inside the box.

Brazilian forward Igor Jesus stepped up and calmly converted from the spot to double Forest’s advantage.

The Super Eagles star then completed the dominant display in the second half, grabbing his second goal of the match to seal an emphatic win for Nottingham Forest.

Jao Pedro scored a consolatory goal for Chelsea

The victory boosted Forest’s position on the table, while Chelsea were left disappointed after another poor outing in front of their home fans.
