Cameroon has been selected as one of the three African countries that will host the third window of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 African Qualifiers.

The announcement was confirmed by the FIBA Africa Regional Office following a meeting held on April 15 in Abidjan.

The games are scheduled to take place from July 2 to 5, 2026. Cameroon will host Group A matches featuring Cape Verde, Libya, South Sudan, and the Indomitable Lions of basketball. The event marks another important step for the country as it continues to strengthen its position in hosting major international sporting competitions.

Senegal will host Group B, which includes Côte d’Ivoire and the Democratic Republic of Congo, while Angola will stage the Group C and Group D fixtures.

This new phase of the qualifiers comes after the previous games played in February in Alexandria and Dakar. FIBA also announced that the host nations for the fourth qualification window will be revealed after May 15, 2026.
