In a major move to strengthen football development across continents, CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe and UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin have officially signed a new cooperation agreement between African and European football bodies.
The agreement sets out a collaborative framework focusing on key areas such as coaching, refereeing, youth development, and women’s football.
The initiative aims to enhance football structures across Africa while fostering stronger ties with European football, signaling a long-term commitment to improving standards, sharing expertise, and promoting the sport on both continents.
“This partnership is a milestone for African football,” said Dr. Motsepe. “It will allow us to learn from UEFA’s experience and accelerate development in critical areas.”
The deal is expected to have a significant impact on talent nurturing, professionalization of leagues, and the overall growth of the game across Africa.
