They came back strongly in the final group game to beat Canada 79-70 and booked their first place in the quarter final.
Before the games in Paris, the African champions was lowest among the participating teams.
But their quarter final qualifications has catapult them into the 8th position.
D’Tigress will contend with the defending champions the United States on Wednesday for a place in the semi final.
