Nigeria’s D’Tigress suffered a 77–60 defeat to South Korea on Thursday in their second game of the qualifying tournament for the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup.
The loss marks the team’s first defeat since their quarter-final setback against the United States at the women’s basketball event of the Paris 2024 Olympics.
South Korea took an early advantage, edging the first quarter 20–16. Although D’Tigress improved in the second quarter, the Asians maintained their lead and headed into halftime ahead 36–32.
South Korea extended their dominance after the break, leading 58–51 at the end of the third quarter before pulling away in the final period to seal a convincing 17-point victory.
