Nigeria’s table tennis icon, Quadri Aruna, has secured qualification for the ITTF World Cup in Macao following a dominant performance at the ITTF African Championships in Benghazi, Libya.
Aruna booked one of the four slots allocated to Africa after a commanding quarter-final victory over Egypt’s Mostafa Badr.
The Nigerian star swept aside his opponent in straight sets (4–0), underlining his status as one of the continent’s elite players.
The emphatic win not only confirmed Aruna’s place at the prestigious World Cup but also made him Nigeria’s sole qualifier in the men’s singles category at the African Championships.
Aruna’s qualification further cements his reputation as a consistent performer on the continental and global stage, as he now sets his sights on representing Nigeria at the ITTF World Cup in Macao, where the world’s best table tennis players will converge.
