Nigerian sprinter Udodi Onwuzurike returned to competitive action in impressive fashion, winning the men’s 200m at the Motonet GP Espoo in Finland.
Onwuzurike clocked 20.21 seconds with a legal +0.5m/s wind to secure victory in the event.
The race marked his first competition since representing Nigeria at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, where he claimed silver and bronze medals.
Finland’s Rikku Illukka finished second in 20.72s, while Latvia’s Oskars Grava completed the podium in 20.87s.
Onwuzurike’s victory provides an encouraging start to his return to competition as he continues preparations for the remainder of the athletics season.
