Super Eagles duo of Paul Onuachu and Chibuike Nwaiwu were the standout performers on Saturday as Trabzonspor secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Galatasaray.
The hosts made a dream start to the encounter, with Onuachu finding the back of the net as early as the 4th minute to give Trabzonspor the lead.
Galatasaray responded after the break, drawing level in the 48th minute through Wilfried Singo, who capitalised on a defensive lapse to restore parity.
However, Trabzonspor regained control midway through the second half when Nwaiwu stepped up in the 67th minute to score what proved to be the decisive goal.
The victory ensured maximum points for Trabzonspor, with the Nigerian duo playing a crucial role in securing the important win in front of their home supporters.
