Jordan produced a resilient display to snatch a 2-2 draw against the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the second of two international friendlies played on Tuesday evening at Antalya Stadium.

The match, which served as final preparation for both teams ahead of upcoming competitive fixtures, saw Jordan take an early lead in the 17th minute through their star winger Mousa Tamari, who slotted home calmly after a swift counter-attack.

Nigeria responded quickly, with winger Moses Simon restoring parity just eight minutes later in the 25th minute. Simon’s clinical finish from inside the box followed a well-worked move down the right flank.

The Super Eagles then edged ahead before halftime when defender Emmanuel Fernandez powered in a close-range goal in the 41st minute, giving Nigeria a 2-1 lead going into the break.

Jordan, however, showed great character in the second half. Despite Nigeria’s dominance in possession, the West Asian side refused to be broken down until the 77th minute when substitute Al David rose to the occasion, netting the equaliser with a well-taken strike that left Nigerian goalkeeper with little chance.

In the closing stages, both teams pushed for a winner, but solid defending and missed opportunities ensured the scoreline remained 2-2 until the final whistle.

With the result, Nigeria concluded their Turkish training camp with one win and one draw from the two friendly matches, providing coach Eric Chelle with valuable insights into squad readiness as they continue preparations for major tournaments.

Jordan, on the other hand, will take confidence from holding a strong African side and showing their ability to compete at this level.
