Former president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Melvin Pinnick, has added another feather to his cap following his appointment as the Deputy Chairman of FIFA’s Men’s National Teams Competitions Committee.

Pinnick, who previously served on the FIFA Council and CAF Executive Committee, will now play a key role in overseeing global men’s national team competitions, including the FIFA World Cup and other tournaments under the body’s umbrella.

The Delta-born football administrator is no stranger to international football governance, having been part of several high-profile committees within FIFA and CAF.

His new position further cements Nigeria’s growing influence in world football administration.

Pinnick’s appointment is expected to strengthen Africa’s voice in FIFA decision-making, particularly with the 2026 World Cup fast approaching and expanded global tournaments on the horizon.
