African champions, Nigeria’s Super Falcons, have climbed one place to 36th in the latest FIFA Women’s World Rankings released on Tuesday.

The updated rankings were published on FIFA’s official website, reflecting recent international performances across women’s football.

The Super Falcons, who were previously ranked 37th, continue their steady progress on the global stage under the guidance of head coach Justine Madugu.

Despite the marginal rise, Nigeria maintained their status as the top-ranked women’s national team in Africa.
Following the Super Falcons on the continent are South Africa’s Banyana

Banyana, Ghana’s Black Queens, Morocco’s Atlas Lionesses, and Zambia’s Copper Queens, completing Africa’s top five.

On the global scene, Spain retained their position as the number one ranked team in the world.

The reigning world champions are followed by the United States of America, England, Germany, and Japan in the top five.

The next edition of the FIFA Women’s World Rankings is scheduled to be released on June 16, 2026.
